Food Donation Programs

In the aftermath of COVID-19, a streamlined CnA regrouped to launch our food donation program in November 2022, in doing so, walking-the-talk of compassion-in-action.

We are now into our 8th year, with an ever-greater call to help those who need with a hand-up, or simply with a 16 oz. jar of peanut butter to help nourish their body and spirit. Even the most-simple act of compassion becomes its own reward, for all involved.

Without our generous support from CnA donors, from Kroger corporate, from our local King Soopers, from our, win-win, joint-venture partnership with the Benet Hill Monastery community, and from our hard working CnA volunteers, who give their time and expenses, none of this would have been possible.

Cumulative, for all food donations from CnA’s Help Us Feed Those in Need joint-venture campaigns over the last 37-months, from inception on Thanksgiving 2022 to donations gathered and delivered in December 2025:

  • Total of 34 food pantry deliveries to six nonprofits in Colorado Springs and Denver;
  • Total weight of gathered, purchased and delivered food donations; 10,084 pounds;
  • Provided 144,567 servings: with a focus on low-sugar, high protein basic staples, such as flour, rice, beans, canned veggies and peanut butter, plus CnA’s annual special focus on holiday treats, called – Cookies for Christmas, that has delivered nearly 1,000 lbs. of purchased cookies from CnA donors for Salvation Army’s annual Community Meal, that serves thousands throughout metro Colorado Springs on Christmas Day.
  • Retail value: $17,900 for all gathered and delivered food donations from CnA’s donors, corporate grants, and various joint venture relationships, with costs to CnA’s financial supporters averaging less than 50% of the total value for all grocery staples distributed that help feed those in-need.

CnA’s Joint Venture Relationships with other nonprofits leverage Donor Dollars …

CnA’s two special focus joint ventures with the community supporting The Sisters of Benet Hill Monastery and King Soopers, titled: Bring-A-Jar, or $2, where members of the BHM donate jars of peanut butter that are doubled by CnA’s Match Plus program. A second venture, called Three that Feed, teams King Soopers, BHM, and CnA. This combined outreach has delivered 4,539 lbs. of peanut butter (63,546 servings) to six nonprofits, from May ‘24 to December ‘25.

New in 2025, CnA’s Help Us Feed Those in Need – Rice, Beans & Sugar…

With the massive cuts in 2025 to various federal food assistance programs, CnA created a new bulk food donation program, focused on large bags, usually 25-50 lbs., of white rice, pinto beans, granulated sugar, and flour, delivered to food pantries that team with CnA by having their volunteers repackage our bulk bags of food into smaller amounts for redistribution.

We have created joint-venture relationships with three nonprofit food pantries, with their volunteers breaking CnA’s bulk donations into smaller portions. CnA made an initial delivery of 240 lbs. / 7,340 servings, in October, with a cost of 0.022 cents per serving, providing over 45 servings per CnA donor dollar.

CnA’s new Rice, Beans & Sugar program will be a major part of our 2026 efforts, with a goal of delivering 3,600 lbs. of these food staples.
